Thank you for your kind words it's really nice of you. I shall certainly try what you recommend as my brother and myself are really proud of my grandad and would like to pass this on throughout the family. My grandad used to tell us stories about his time with the Commando's (without my Nan knowing as she hated talking about the war) and I only wish now that I could remember all what he said.
We have found his service number and a membership card for a commando organisation that I shall try and contact so hopefully this should help. I also have a few photos of him in his army uniform which is great.
It's only when you lose someone that you really appreicate them and he
was my superman.
To all those that served, we are indebted to you.
Thanks for your help again.
Kind regards
Jo

Hi
My grandfather passed away this week and I'm trying to find out as much information as I can about him. He served in 9 Commando and I think I have a service number but will have to find that out.
Would anyone know a Frank Ronald Dixon or would anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
Jo
