Hi everyone. First things first, I want to say thank you to everyone that has previously posted info on the RMs. I've learned an incredible amount already although I've hit a few snags and could do with a little help.

So I am researching my (late) FiL service and really I'm acting on a few family stories. We have his original service sheet which doesn't carry much detail (as it appears a lot of people suffer with this problem!).

Division and number. "g" 3492 with CH/X then 118286

28/3/40 - 9/8/40 Depot Deal. Basic training?
10/8/40 - 29/10/40 Chatham Division
30/10/40 - 28/12/40 RM Reserve Depot -
29/12/40 - 14/4/41 Plymouth Division
15/4/41 - 8/4/44 MNBDO (note there is no 1 or 2 ref)
9/5/44 - 20/5/44 RMTG -
21/5/44 - 29/1/45 COPRA -
30/1/45 - 20/2/45 RMTG
21/2/45 - 9/8/45 RM 33Bn
10/8/45 - 24/4/46 COPRA
25/4/46 Chatham Division - Demob

Can anyone explain exactly what Chatham and Plymouth Divisions were? It's very confusing. I assume they are just Barracks or administrative bases.
