Hello Everyone
I am rationalising my Library and I came across this that I had forgotten I had.
The Book March Past by Lord Lovat 1978. In the book there is layed in a note and a post card both signed by L. Lovat.
I think they are very interesting and have typed out the contents of each below. The post card is of L.Lovats country house Beaufort Castle Invernessshire.
Note the similarity of the wording of the note to the S.A.S well known motto.
Card reads:
Thanks for your letter.
I hope this does not sound to pompous. Book may help a boy of tender years.
Lovat
Note reads:
Leadership requires sound judgment, good example and itegrity but above all the courage of conviction that will inspire lesser men to rise to the occasion.
Without courage there cannot be any truth in life;and without truth there cannot be any other virtue.
He most prevails who nobly dares.
Lovat
I cant date the but I assume they were given with the book.
Intriguing.
Regards
John m
