Joined the Commandos about 1941, (aged 18 yrs) so may have been in Africa later in the campaign. NEW INFORMATION: He served on HMS Attacker, and was at Sicily. He was also a sniper. George passed away in 1996, and I would like to know more about him. Would appreciate any info or photos. Could you pls confirm for me, is it possible to retrieve Dads service records, or were they handed to him at the end of his service with no official records kept? With thanks M.
