Help with Grand fathers Records PO/X 998 sgt C H Andrew

I am researching my Grand fathers war record i.e where did he serve etc.
I have some of his original records and some from Gov MOD site

He joined the royal marines in 1930 Chatham depot CHX721 then moved to Portsmouth division POx998
He served in the Mediterranean on several ships in the 30s HMS Revenge ,HMS Rodney ,HMS Nelson , HMS Ramillies.
then came WW2 and in August 1939 was sent back to Portsmouth division and then on to HBL MNBDO.
Trained at Yeovil -11th RM No11 S/L R, S battery and shipped of to Africa April 1941 .
on 10/5/1941 'S' battery sailed to Crete and arrived on the 14/5/1941"suda bay" 6 days later the Battle of Crete starts with a German Airborne assault.
I remember "as a small boy" my grandfather speaking about Crete and the fierce fighting, hand to hand combat and bravery of his fellow marines.

He survived Crete and 'S' battery was sent to Egypt and on to the suez canal area defending the air fields in that area, this is where i start to loose track of his whereabouts .
he may have gone with A large detachment known as ?Scott Force? to Alexandria on 30th October 1942 and did not return to the Battery until 18th December 1942?
?S? Battery moved to Geneifa on 1st May 1943 where it remained until embarking for Ceylon with No.11 Regiment and other elements of M.N.B.D.O. I. on 16th June

The Royal Marines in Ceylon underwent a major re-organisation, the intention being to form two defence brigades which were to support future amphibious operations. The Regimental Headquarters, No.11 Regiment, R.M. was dissolve on 31st July 1943 and the next day the now independent ?S? Battery became part of 3 Mobile Naval Base Brigade, R.M. (3 M.N.B. Brigade)
In march 1944 The ?S? Battery arrived with the 3 M.N.B. Brigade at Glasgow on 16th March 1944. All units of the Brigade disembarked and went to Johnstone Castle. After enjoying a period of foreign service leave during April the majority of personnel were posted away as anti-aircraft personnel, landing craft crews and, possibly, as Commandos.
looking at my grandfathers records there are large gaps and several different dates so i am not 100% sure if he stayed with S battery but in April 1944 looks he was sent to H.M.S Squid
All i can find out about this land base was it was something to do with landing craft "several months before D DAY" , Asking the family NO ones knows anything of my Grandfathers whereabouts or his deployment and he Never spoke about D day or Normandy
the next thing i can find is sept 1944 he is back at Portsmouth division from there back to HMS Nelson in April 1945 .
HMS Nelson then went on to sever in the south China sea
He left the service in November 1945.

I will attach scan files of all the records I have of his service, if anyone can help deceiver the information on them or have any further information myself and my family would appreciate any help you can offer.
