Apologies but no J as a middle name, just Edward Hasted. We discovered an unknown step-brother called Edward James Hasted b1907 from a previous marriage. Sorry for the confusion, so can you remove the J please. We now have birth and death certificate copies so will contact the National Archives. Thanks so much for your ongoing help. It means so much to our wider family.
Ted Hasted appears in many of the No 6 Commando Veterans photos:
1962 - bottom row, 2nd right
No 6 at Porchester Hall series: (3) man rubbing the head of another, (4) bottom row, far left, (6) 2nd bottom row - behind man holding ?6?, (8) 2nd bottom row, 4th from right with a pipe, (9) 2nd bottom row, 4th from right.

Attached photo is from my Mother?s wedding day in April 1964.

Sadly, he remarried a year before his death, so we have none of his commando memorabilia. Any info much appreciated.

Thank you, Philip
Many thanks Nick. This is wonderful news for my Mother and her sisters and the rest of the family. Hopefully we can find out more info such as his service number, dates he served, any medals, etc. He was always seen as a bit of a "loveable rogue " so it is especially pleasing.
Hi all. Ted told everyone he was a commando in WW2, but we are unable to find any records except an obituary entry for Edward Hasted, unit 6 on this site, but not on the roll call. He was originally from Aylesbury, but moved to Luton, where he was a painter and decorator after the war. He went to Leagrave British Legion for many years.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Philip
