Hello! I'm on a mission to find information about my great-grandad, who was taken as a prisoner of war 80 years ago today. He never spoke of it much, and my family & I would like to find out more about his time in the Royal Marines.
His name was Alexander Findlay, CH/X111025. We know he was taken on the 7th June 1944 at Normandy, and that he was taken to Marlag und Milag Nord. We believe he was manning the landing crafts, but we cannot confirm this.
I know this is a long shot but I thought I'd put it out there!
Thanks.
