Hi,

i see that my grandfathers details appear on a nominal roll for 9 commando.

Can anyone provide any details so i can investigate further.

The family advised he did go on several raids.

I only know for certain of Dieppe, Lofoten, Walcheren, Rhine and Sierra Leone in prep for Canary islands, where he caught malaria.
Was at Achnacarry assisting with training prior to D-Day and went back to 4 commando in June /July 44

Hi Mike

I believe that to be a transcription error as we know your grandfather was in No.4 Commando. I have attached a photo of the lines of the Association newsletter obituaries and I think I see how it may have been misread. I will delete the 9 Cdo entry but as you are here can you provide me the dates and places of birth and death of your grandfather and I will add that to a page I will create in the A_Z archive.
