I joined the Royal Marines on 28th October 1958 with Thomas and we became members of Junior Entry Squad No1. On completion of training, we both went our own ways bumping into each other on the odd occasion, Tom served in the Far East during the confrontation in Borneo in the early sixties. Tom then went on to become a PW1 and served in many RM Units and attained the rank of Warrant Officer 2. Over the past twenty-five years, we have held a reunion of the JE1 Squad at various locations mainly in the Portsmouth area every five years. Tom attended all the reunions and was a very popular member who will be sadly missed.
