Mally Cootes posted this on No 4 Commando "So sorry to announce that we have now lost another of our War Hero's from No 4 Commando Major Alan Dudley Coote Rtd who was 98 years old 2 weeks shy of 99 and what an innings he had. Started in the Buffs East Kent regiment joined the No 4 Commando for the Dieppe raids and DDAY landings moved to the Parachute regiment and on to the RAOC until he retired.
Another Brave man with so many stories.
Passed away peacefully in his sleep while in James Cook Hospital.".

I have passed our thoughts and prayers onto his family. God bless.

Very sad news. Rest in peace Alan.

Pete Rogers, son of LSgt Joe Rogers MM & nephew of TSM Ken McAllister. Both No2 Commando.
God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.
