3384304 L/Cpl. Harold Trevor BLINMAN East Lancashire Regiment & 6 Commando
L/Cpl. Blinman's C.W.G.C. entry doesn't include reference to his Commando service

Hello Guy
We have him listed on our own ROH but at the time the only supporting evidence of Commando service at time of his death that I was aware of was the Westminster Abbey Commando Roll of Honour listing him as No.6 Commando. This document on it's own is not accepted by the CWGC as sufficient evidence to merit a change on their records. However I have now checked and can see a Casualty List entry for him which shows SS Commando. I have attached an extract below.
Before I contact the CWGC is there anyone who has access to the No.6 Commando War Diary, or other official document, that might mention the death of, or even the service of, LCpl. Blinman in No. 6 Commando ? If so can they post a copy of it here and I will include it in my request to the CWGC.

Pete,
Lance Corporal Blinman's wife posted an 'In Memoriam' notice in the Wiltshire Times 4th December 1943, this includes a reference to 6 Commando.

Just checking again to see if anyone has access to the No.6 Commando War Diary for this period and can confirm whether the death of LCpl. Blinman is recorded there ?

Pete,
Unfortunately, there is no mention of L/Cpl. Blinman in the war diary.
