In the book Four Five - The story of 45 Commando Royal Marines the author David Young states that 45 left Chatham for the Far East on 31 January 1946 in the aircraft carrier HMS Rajah arriving at Port Said on 11 February and Singapore on 1 March. They eventually arrived at Kowloon on 7 March.
