Follow this link to the UK National Inventory of War Memorials (UKNIWM) to find War Memorials dedicated to Commando Units and Individuals.

Thanks for this Nick, I am awaiting a response from UKNIWM as to when the Army Commando memorial at Alrewas will be added to the inventory.

I will sort out our Links page as soon as I can, so that all of these can be added.

Hello,

Don't know if I shall share there or not.

This is a tribute from BERNEVAL-le-GRAND ( Seine-Maritime, Normandy ) N°3 Cdo operation Flodden 19 08 1942
to Jim CLINTON, Fred WALKER and John WHITE All N°3 Cdo vétérans.
Who came each year to remember their comrades.

So, the Mayor and Council decided to display these plaques to remember them.

Stéphane

I think the UKNIWM has been replaced by the Imperial War Museum War Memorial Register.

https://memorials.iwm.org.uk/

I am a Remote Volunteer for the IWM WMR.

I was checking here for any news of the new memorial up near the Spean Bridge Commando Memorial and noticed the first item here (dated 2017) about a new memorial for Lt. Col. Augustus Charles Newman VC in Sandwich so checked the IWM WMR and there does not seem to be a record there for it.

If anyone has a picture of the memorial then I can add it (we need permission from the copyright owner so cannot just use pictures online). I might add a record myself later.
