This resource is a real time saver for those people wanting to know about their relatives who served in 3 and 4 Commando at Normandy. What this site offers is war diary transcriptions which you can search yourself for FREE using the page word search facility intergrated into what ever browser you are using.

Scroll down to Special Service Brigade and click War Diaries.

What is interesting that these war diaries have not been indexed in Google.

I have been struggling with war diaries over the last few months, in regards trying to get researchers employed by the national archives to find relevant extracts for me. Having found this site with in 2 minutes I`d found exactly which Troops of commando the men I was researching had served with myself.
