I have my father's service record from World War Two and whilst I can understand much of it there are many codifications which I do not understand - for example "To Y List", "S List" and several others.

If there's any one who has experience and knowledge about the interpretation of this part of service records and is prepared to assist me I would be very grateful.

Hi Graham,

I'd be happy to try and decipher your father's service records if you want.
As I have said before, sometimes it can be difficult to work them out when little extracts are taken out of context, so if you can scan the records and email them to me, I can go through them and send you a transcript and an explanation...

Hello Nick,

thanks for your offer of help.

How do I send a scanned copy of this part of my dad's service record without it going out across the whole web site?

Thanks again
