'My father was apparently one of the members of the Army Physical Training Corps that was sent to help train the Commandos. He spoke extremely little about his 'war history' but did tell the family he was sent to Scotland for the training. He told me that he would have them training up Ben Nevis, and we know one of his specialties was rope training within the army in general. We are not sure if at the time he was a sergeant, Sorry!

I've attached a scanned photo taken at Colchester Training School. My father is back row, 5th from the right. He was well known for his physical figure and had been a Mr Great Britain in the '30's.

If you can help shed any light on his involvement we would be delighted.'
