Again, thanks to all those of you who have helped me in the Austin thread!

I'm currently working on a project regarding those Danes that served with the Commonwealth Forces. I'm primarely focussed on the Danes that served i WW1, WW2 and the 2.500 Danes that served in the British Army 1945-8.

I have created a database and a website which can be seen here (It's in English): http://danes-at-war.dk/

One of my entries is 6299818 L/Cpl Erik Dons-Madsen of the Commandos: http://danes-at-war.dk/index.php/danes-in-the-commonwealth-forces?pid=61&sid=499:Dons-Madsen

As you can see, I do not have much info on him - so I'm hoping that you will be able to help me with his service in the Commandos. All help will be highly appreciated!

Looking forward to your responses.

Kind regards,

Bjoern

We have a note about his death on a previous forum message. He served in No.9 Commando:

Pete,

Thanks for the info! As mentioned in my private message, I wasn't aware of Dons-Madsen's death.

Did you get the photo?

Nick,

Thanks for the info regarding Frede Petersen! And a very interesting article.

I guess Weekendavisen has the copyright of the photos and text? I would really like to add some of this to the database. Let me know if I need to contact Weekendavisen, in order to "borrow" photos and text.

And if any of you should stumble over Danish born commandos in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Bjoern

Bjoern,
Yes Weekendavisen does have copyright of both text and photographs of Frede, however I can send you the details so that you can apply to the magazine.
