Im on here browsing when Hazel shouts me " commandos on the telly!" i came running down and on BBC1 Country Track is on and the chap is being shown around Lochailort by a very interesting Scotsman. I missed a good deal of it but photos of the training was shown plus pics of David Niven there in uniform. The billets where they stayed was shown plus the big mansion house. My brother Roy rang and said "have you got the tv on ?" I keep thinking of our dads running up those big hills with full pack!

Stephen - it is too bad you missed our trip to Lochailort in '08. It was great to see in the old House and Paul Macdonald gave us a wonderful look into its history. Maybe we will get back there another year.

You wouldn't want to be there today. Here's todays weather for the Ben !!!!
Snow and increasingly severe gales on the mountain on Tuesday. Snow showers will be frequent, and at times fall one after another, giving almost constant whiteout, with sleet and rain only at low levels. Cloud will occasionally clear the summit, but the base drop very suddenly as showers come in. Due to wind chill, it will feel as cold as minus 25 Celsius on the summit.
