Cant remember if this book 's been mentioned but its a good read .Forgotten Voices Of Burma by Julian Thompson. Some of the soldiers who tell their story include Vic Ralph who says Hill170 was like Rorke's Drift! Its annoying to see
Lt Knowland VC spelt Nolan though..Jack Salter 1Commando says a reinforcement arrived wearing a bush hat instead of his green beret he shouted to the man "take that off or they 'll think your the brigadier"Within a minute he was shot in the head A excellent book ..plenty of action and stories of how it really was to fight the Japanese
