These photos and and details are posted in the forum on behalf of Philip Bacon who has forwaded them to me. Albert was Philip's father and James Casbolt was Philip's uncle. Philip has also identified both of them in the No.1 Cdo panorama photo. I am aware that Nick and others are in contact with him by pm and hope that these photos can assist as I believe there had been some confusion as to whether they were No.1 or No.5 Cdo. or even 1/5 Cdo. If anyone can give Philip anymore information that would be great. The photos will be transferred to the No.1 Cdo. gallery in due course

Philip has again contacted me with some information that I am hopeful could lead to good results. His father was in 5 troop of No.1 Commando.
I recall Andy Maines recently visiting Idris Jones who was also in 5 Troop of No.1 Commando. So Andy if you are reading this are you able to get in touch with Idris again?
I am aware there is a photo with names of 5 troop 1 Cdo however it does not appear to show Philip's father or uncle:

Hello
Philip here. I may be wrong about the troop. He could well have been with 3 or 4. I recall that my Dad and Uncle were in different troops. It would be nice if someone could solve this one for me.
Philip

Hi Pete
Yes I am still in touch with Idris and will of course give him a call to see if he can remember the two names in question. I am just about to go out, however I will give him a call over the weekend and will let you know his reply. As it happens I am just about to send Idris a package of photos that I have enlarged, some of these are Idris's and some are from this site. These photos have been printed on card so that Idris can physically write the names of any one that he remembers actually on to the photo itself. I will also be including a stamped self addressed envelope so that Idirs can post back the anotated photos. I will now include philips photos, as this may help to jog his memory more than just a name, because to be honest Idris did not really remember my father and I have documentary evidence that he was in 5 Troop. In fact Idris is sitting next to my dad in the Operation Deepcut French raid photo that I have uploaded on to the Gallery. I am unable to download philips photos as attachments from the forum, for some reason this facility seems to be blocked, so if you could send them to me via my email address I will be able to print them off.
Cheers Andy

More info from Phillip about Albert Bacon:
Phillip Bacon wrote:He was in No 12 before going to the Far East. During his time in No 12 he took part in raids in the Lofoten Islands.
He left UK on RANCHI which was damaged by air raid and put in at Alexandria where they spent a limited time until continuing.
He was a number 2 bren gunner. He certainly fought in the Arakan, Myebon and Kangaw and was on Hill 170
