My Father Albert Served with No4 Commando from 1943. He was wounded shortly after landing at Normandy but continued to serve in action for 63 days until someone noticed he had perforated both eardrums during a Naval Gunfire Support barrage from HMS Warspite. Sadly he crossed the bar in November 2003. Prior to joining No 4 Commando he was called up and trained as a signaller first with 143 bty RA and then the Middlesex Regt he was discharged in 1946/7 after guarding SS officer POWs at Crewe Hall.-
