He died in 1998 and prior to that he regularly went to, and laterally I took him and some of his comrades to Spean Bridge memorial each year. He was a life member of the Old Comrades Association of Army Commandos, membership no. 4964. He never spoke about his wartime activities, but his letters to my late mother shows he was a Cameronian, then Commando and from 1942 in Karachi, 1943 India Command, 1944 South East Asia to 1945.
