Our neighbour Peter Smith of Number 4 Commando from 1942 through to 1945, passed away in his sleep earlier this week. For many years he and his wife lived in Essex before moving to North Wales. He will be cremated at Wrexham on Friday 8th May. Does anyone know anything of him or of his war record? Please contact ASAP Anne Mills Roberts

Anne,
Thank you for informing the Commando community of the sad passing of Peter Smith, May he Rest in Peace.

I hope that someone can come up with some info for you - especially as your surname is quite famous within the Commando world!

Anne

Sorry cannot be of any help. He is not mentioned in the Dieppe raid but only part of No4 took part in that raid.

Please pass on condolences to the family from a son of a No4 Commando.

Another of the heroes gone to join his comrades.
