Hi, I am looking for info on my Uncle, Sergeant Harry Johnson, who was in 3 Commando 4 Troop. There is a photo of him on the site, titled Sergeants Mess 3 Commando.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou,
Martin Dunn.

Are you related to Derek Johnson who provided some photos of his father including this one:

He is shown as 5 troop mind you?

Hi Martin,
Can you identify your uncle on the photo for us please?
Also, if you have any further information about him it helps with our research and providing you with info.
If you can provide service number and regiment it would be very useful.

Hi he is 3rd row from the back, 2nd from rhs of photo. I am trying to get his service number, and know he was originally in Royal Artillery and rescued from Dunkirk. Was in the first set of recruits for Commandos.
Martin.

Martin,
Sorry about the duff info earlier , but will try [harder] again.
Before the Commando Veterans Association, the organization was known as [short title] The Commando Association, and they issued newsletters twice a year.
Commando newsletter No 88 dated March 1989 has the following entry in the obituaries.
Sgt [late CSM] Harry Johnson [3 Cdo] of FERRYHILL,Co DURHAM.
Could this be your Uncle.
Regards
Graham

Hi Martin,
I have entered your uncle onto the No3 Cdo Nominal Roll.
The existing Nominal Roll will be amended and the revised edition will be uploaded in the near future.
