Hi
I am trying to obtain information on my Grandad on behalf of my gran, the ultimate goal is to replace the passing out parade photo which was lost, the information we have so far is:
William (Bill) Wall, No, X109577, Born 24th January 1924, Salford, Lancashire. National Registry I.D No: HRTL 130/3.
Enlisted: 18 August 1942, Lympstone.
Rank: Marine, Co: E,
Depot RM Lympstone 18th Aug 1942 to 5th Oct 1942, Commanding Officer W Sinclair.
looks like either 4th or (H) BL R.M Div 6th Oct 1942 to 18th March 1944 H.G. Smith crossed out and replaced with e.e.e wildey
Copla, Copra? 19th March 1944 to 2nd May 1946, commanding officer a.m mosias/morris??
Plymouth Div 3rd May 1946 to 12th July 1946, Commanding Officer J A Davies & R. Neville/Wirille?.
Released to Class A
Countries served, Salerno, Italy. Burma and Sumatra, poss one other.
Enlisted in R.Es 24/11/48, No 22236717
