It is with great sadness that I inform you Harry Winch died this morning peacefully in hospital.

Harry was a lovely warm hearted man who I am proud to say I could call my friend.

A true modest hero who was never boastful .........he was witty and always had a word of support for all.

Harry was commando to the bone...............and I am thankful to have known him.

My thoughts are now with his lovely wife Pam and all of his family at this sad time.

God speed Harry ..........hope your landing is dry.

Eric Buckmaster has also just advised me of this sad news. I only met Harry a couple of times and found him such a pleasant and friendly man to talk with. Eric told me that Harry was one of the Stalwarts of the London Branch for many years. My condolences to Pam and all the family.

Rest in peace Harry

Very sad news indeed.

Harry was a true Commando and a huge supporter of the Commando Association and later the Commando Veterans Association. He gave our founder Vic Ralph much support in the early days of the CVA and along with his dear wife Pam attended most events. Harry will be missed in Fort William.

Our thoughts are with Pam and family.

Rest in peace Harry.

When Ria and I were in Fort William for the first time in 2009, we were invited to share a table with Scotty and his wife Pam, Jenny Barlow and Harry and his Pam. An evening we will never forget because of the kindness and humour. Not in the least humour on the part of Harry. The years after that we always had a talk with Harry and Pam when we were in FW. Two very kind people. We will miss Harry and our thoughts are with his lovely wife Pam and his family at this sad time.

Rest in peace Harry!
