Many thanks I will give them a go.
I am reaching out and looking for ex RM?s that served along side my step father James Colin Hannan.
James was north in the north east of England in a pit village called Easington Lane in 1944 and joined the Royal Marines In 1962 until 1971.

Jim served in 42 and 45 commando spent time on the HMS FEARLESS, fought in Borneo and was also deployed to NI.

Most of the conversations now a days he talks about his times in the Royal Marines and I never tire of his stories many of the times he seemed to talk his way out of trouble or solved others troubles but each story as he tells them have this little glint in his eyes.

What I would like to find his other RM?s that served along side him and hopefully put them in contact just so he can brush up on his stories and happy times he had in the marines.

Currently Jim cares for his his wife my mum as she has vascular dementia and he always does this with a smile on his face as he tells me laughter always helps (something I use on a daily basis) but I would like to give him something back and that is by putting him in contact with the gentleman he served with.

I am more than happy to receive reply?s on this forum or you can email me on [email protected].

Jim has been a great step father but in my eyes he is my dad as he has been there since I was 6 and I am. Now 51, please if you can assist me then I would like to thank you in advance.

Warm regards

Colin Elrick
I can?t wait to ask him if he remembers you, I will definitely let you know either way.
Many thanks
Good afternoon Pete,

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my post, I will look to find out more information about the RMA website to see if I can put my Step father in touch with some the ex royal Marines he served with during his 9 years in the forces.

I will tell you that when he talks about his time in the Royal marines he certainly not only enjoys telling the stories but really lights up when he is chatting about his time in the RM's.

Once again thank you for the response.
Thank you for that information and yes it was my step father on the list JC Hannan.

I have added a picture of him to what he looks like now.
My Step Father is an ex royal marine who served for nine years between 1964-1973, serving in 42 commando also serving on the HMS Fearless.
He still likes to talk about his time in the marines and has some great stories to tell, he never climbed up the chain of command as he was happy staying a soldier not an officer.

My Step father served in Northern Ireland and Borneo as well as other places, I really would like to put him in touch with other ex Royal marines as he is now in his mid 70's and I really do think this would be something he would like.

His name is J Hannan and was from the North east of England (County Durham) please if possible if any one remembers him I would really like to put him in touch with them. I really appreciate any one who takes the time to read this and put me in touch with ex Marines who remember him.
