Hi Nic
My father was posted to no. 204 Military Mission India Command on 17/03/1942 with No1 Commando, prior to this he was with 142 Commando Company.

I posted some photos of the locations where the Commandos had their HQ here in north Wales, two of the buildings have survived and are located in and around Llanrwst.
I was told by the locals that days before D-Day that they had gone as quickly as they had arrived?

Pete, I thought that 142 Commando Company, was solely to train and supply individual or groups of Commandos for selective missions when and where required, 204 Mission was made up of all arms personnel, I received a letter along time ago from a 204 soldier stating that he was a machinist on a lathe?
The Bush Warfare Training School was a screen for the special forces.

Pete, he must have been around at the same time as my father, I attach his service record.

Hi Macdonald,
I've e-mailed Andy Maines and he's going to get in contact with Geoff with regards to this topic, so lets hope this starts the ball rolling. I'm sure that they'll get in touch.
With a little support this might raise some revenue for the CVA.

I collect commemorative Commando daggers, and wonder what would be the possibility and price of commissioning such a knife, (similar to the 25th Anniversary, R.M. Commando Falklands dagger). With all profits going to the CVA. On a pre-order and payment prior to commissioning basis.

I think he was a bit mixed up about No 9 Independent Company and Special Service Battalion as these were the units that I mentioned to him that my father was with prior to his posting to no1 Cammando inNovember 1941
