A Tribute to No4 Commando following the Dieppe raid
Oh, gallant men our nations pride
Whose valour cannot be denied
Their name is echoed far and wide
The Fighting Fourth Commando
Their deeds shall live from age to age
They've writ their name on History's page
Upheld their glorious heritage
The Fighting Fourth Commando
At dawn they made that fateful raid
Advancing grim and undismayed
They fought undaunted, unafraid
The Fighting Fourth Commando
For us they trod the depths of hell
Faced certain death from fire and shell
They did their job they did it well
The Fighting Fourth Commando
Some paid the price with battle scars
Some passed beyond all earthly bars
Their names are written in the stars
The Fighting Fourth Commando
Oh Lord above, who art with us yet
When Time the healing hand hath set
Be with us Lord "Lest we forget"
The Gallant Fourth Commando

We give thanks to Peter Kenny for taking the Commando Association wreaths over and laying them. Stephane helped him.
Thanks to the French who gather to remember each year to remember all the fallen.

Marc
If he landed at sword beach he could have been with 45 RMC 1st Special Service Brigade under the command of Lord Lovat. But as Pete says go for his service record.
Best wishes on your search.
Bill.

John Whyte have just given me some sad news "I received the sad news today that Lt Col Kevin Lane MBE just died following a long illness. Kevin has been the guiding light in Lochaber British Legion since his retirement many years ago. He will be well known by Commandos who habitually visit Commando Memorial during Remembrance weekend. I intend to be present at his funeral this Wednesday and will be happy to present a Commando Association presence".
Our thoughts and prayers are with family, friends and comrades from the Lochaber British Legion.
