Steve has tried on the CVA a couple of times before with no success so thought I would try again on his behalf to see if any 3 Cdo veterans or relatives might have known his Grandfather - Donald Trustram. Steve has his service record and I have seen from it that Donald Trustram joined No 3 Commando from the Herts and Beds Regt. at the time of the D Day Landings and he is keen to know anything about his grandfather from his time in the Commandos D Day onwards. He has provided me with a picture of his grandfather and apologises for the quality. It was probably taken around 1945. Donald was 30 years old when he enlisted in 1939. Steve has also provided me with a Reichsmark note which has been signed by some of 3 Commando. I have posted both these in the gallery today where the pictures can be zoomed for better viewing. Anyone who recognises, or can identify, the names on this note please reply for Steve's benefit.

The note can be seen clearer in the gallery on this link:

God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.
