I just had a wonderful PM from debbiesmithers reference a photo I found on the Internet and posted in the Gallery

http://www.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/1/No1+Cdo_+4+June+42.jpg.html

Hi Nic,
is it you that has posted a new photo in the NO1 unit - as my jaw dropped when I saw it!! I too have seen this photo as it is amongst my grans belongings!!! OMG! the chap in the front with the bandage on his finger is my Grandad Roy Halfpenny!!
can you shed any more info on the picture for me? his service records show him as being in the UK until Nov 1942
look forward to hearing from you!
regards,
Debbie

I had no info on it other that it was No1 Cdo on 4 June 42.

Now we have been able to identify one of those on the photo.
So there is always a chance that someone may post a photo with your father, grandfather, uncle etc on it - never give up hope of finding something...
