Hi there,
First of all, I want to apologize, I'm French and my English is far from perfect.

I'm a big fan of the British Army and a collector. I recently bought in France a uniform (jacket + pants) n°2 of an Lt Co of the Royal Engineers. After several days of research to find its name, I realized that it came from the 24 Commando (commando and diving suit insignias).
Despite this, my research is still blocked, I don't have the list of 24 Commando COs and even with the medals he wears, I can't find it.

Medals ribbons on the jacket : OBE or MBE ; Iraq medal without clasp ; OSM Afghanistan with clasp ; OSM Iraq & Syria with clasp ; 2012 Jubilee ; Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct.

Can you help me please ?
Thanks in advance
Good for you,
MG

Are you sure it?s for 24 commando. They were formed from 59 ind commando squadron and the commando and diving badges could be just a part of the history of the uniform. I served 22 years and 7 months in the RE as a reserve and regular service. Many people go to 24 and dive. There is also a reserve commando unit with the same as you describe. 131 Commando RE.

If you get a name I will enquire my friend did 10 years in 59 and was in Bosnia in 90s Iraq Op Telic, Op Jacanna invasion of Afghanistan after 9/11 plus many other tours inc 5 Herrick tours and various others, retiring last year after 25 years.

There is a commando EOD sqn and this person could have been there as a young officer as normally 2-3 year postings.

Happy to help if you get a name.

No I'm not 100% sure, it's a guess I made based on the badges on the jacket.
I did not dig the track of the 59 and 131 squadron. Thanks !

I'm attaching photos of the jacket if it helps.

Thanks :)

That?s the modern No 2 FAD or future army dress. Not sure without a name it?s impossible. Note the Syria ribbon could this gent have been attached to a unit, not heard of 24 going there.
