It is with much sadness that we advise you of the recent death on 14 April 2022 of Stanley Smith, aged 96, a veteran of No.1/5 Commando. Stanley enlisted into the Royal Navy on 18 December 1943 and transferred to the Army on 24 August 1944. He later volunteered for the Commandos and was a member of the original Commando Association. Our condolences to his son in law Mike and all his family and friends.

Rest in peace Stanley.

God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.
