My great uncle Harold Plank is mentioned in the index of the above history of 47 RM Commando. could anyone who has the book tell what is written about him as I don't think I've got much chance of getting hold of the book myself.

The reference in Doc Forfars book to your father was that he was killed by a sniper along with Marine MacGregor during the Battle for Walcheren.

I found two copies of the book for sale in Abe Books but at crazy prices £90 and £104!
