Any information on Jimmy Synott  XML

Hi, I am a relative of Jimmy Synott. My grandfather (his brother) has almost no information or pictures of his time at war. Or even any recent pictures as he is not able to get in contact with Jimmys son. Any pictures of information on Jimmy Synott would be so greatly appreciated. 3 commando 3 troop.

Hi Ciaran,

All the references to Jimmy (Sgt James Synnott, Royal Artillery & No.3 Cdo) have a double 'N' in his surname, whereas you spell it with a single 'N' - can you confirm which is correct?

Two pics in the gallery from his wartime days. The photos enlarge when clicked on so you can see him. He was a Corporal at this time but by 1945 was a Sergeant. He was wounded on 11 April 1945:

We have him as James Francis 'Jimmy' SYNNOTT.

Yes my mistake. His surname was spelt ?Synnott? I really appreciate your response and this information.

Yes, he was indeed wounded. I remember him telling us he was wounded outside Belsen. He was struck by a round from a German MP40.
