Looking for details on where my grandfather served in WWII, he was in 42 RM Commando  XML

The only details I have for my grandfather whose name was Albert 'Bert' Joseph Summerhayes from Cardiff was that he was near Lymington in August 1943 I guess when 42 Commando was formed from what I have read. He became a sergeant major we believe and his service number CHX3179.
