Hello,

I believe that my dad, Charles Hales (known as Ron to all), was a commando during WW2.

I wish now that I had asked him so much more when he was alive but I am aware of a few things.

His parent regiment was the Worcestershire, and I think he may have been in No.2 Commando, serving in Italy and Yugoslavia.

I have attached a photo of his Commando Service Certificate (I did not know this existed until after his death). I do have a few photos of my dad in Worcs uniform and at least one in green beret with combined operations badge (i did try posting these but attachments were too large!).

I still have his commando knitted hat, which he still wore as his "working" hat in his workshop into his 80's.

I love browsing through this great website, and hope that somebody out there may have some more information on my dad.

Hi Mike

I can assist you with posting the photos. Email them to me with as much detail as is known about each. Can you also include the date your Father died. Look forward to hearing from you. I have updated your photo above so that it displays.
