I am trying to find the service records of the above named Royal Marine for his family. He ended up in the Royal Star & Garter home and then came to Dorset where he died in Blandford hospital in 1996. Family keen to know his service history Joined 15/2/1940

1942 diary ? It clearly refers to time in Ceylon on AA duties. Trincamalee & Dyatalawa RN base B Bty AD Bde 3.7 AAUnit?

He went through the whole war butdid have a bad truck crash I remember him saying that he was a driver to an ambassador when in Europe and that he certainly was in Belgium.
Other anecdotes refer to fighting the Japanese and being on the first landing craft to liberate the Maldives. (Midu island Jan 42?)
He mentioned time in submarines and also in Italy but I?m not sure about that.

If it were possible to piece together his progress throughout the war, that would be fantastic. I?m afraid I haven?t been able to tie in the reference numbers to any regiment so I only know he was in the Royal Marines.
