My father served as a RM commando during WW2 and I am looking for information about him. His name was Thomas Wallace PO/X 105307 and he served from 1943 till 1945. He was stationed for a while at Kamperland in Holland. He never talked about his service and died in 1998. His wife, my mother, died recently at 100 years old and I am compiling a scrapbook. Any info welcome
Do you know what RM Commando your father was with?

Thanks for your reply. He was with 46(RM) and I have his testimonial letter from November 1945 Nothing much more to go on i'm afraid. The letter was signed by someone (name undecipherable) but with a.c. 's' 7p under his name.
Nothing much to go on I know but will post further info if and when I find it.

It would be good to post the photos on here with permission for Pete to put them into the Gallery under 46 RMC.

Can you try posting the photos as attachments to a message in reply on here. Any difficulty email me them. See email link below. Can you also advise where you got the information about 46RM Commando as that would give us a clearer idea. 46RM Commando were in Neustadt in Germany in May and remained in Germany until the 8th June 1945. My immediate thought was that it might be 47RM Commando. See this link to their gallery: http://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/Royal+Marine+Commando+Units/47RM+Commando/
However I will await your reply on the above as there would have been a lot of troop movement around that time. Can you also try posting the testimonial letter as well.
