Hi Peter & Co

Finally worked it out!

As I start of some pictures I would like to honour Arthur Cundall (Ginger) my Grandfathers best mate who sadly was one of the last to die in ET of operations.

I attach my Grandfather?s precious colour picture of Arthur that he kept to remember him all his life.

Arthur Cundall PO/X 116105 46RMC
Thomas Clarke PO/X 116107 48RMC

I know my Grandfather moved between Commando?s as they were never permanently attached, but he spent most of his war service with 48, not sure if Arthur moved from 46. Ironically my Grandfather transferred to 46RMC May/June 1945 as 48RMC was being disbanded.

Group photo my Grandfather is rear RHS second in. Arthur is LHS of bottom three.

Taken during training.

Both were signalmen.

Hopefully done this correctly for you to review & add Arthur?s picture to his ROH?

Can both be added to 46 & 48 photo galleries?

More to follow once I find them.

Regards
Nigel

Hi Nigel

Thanks for the photos and glad you got there in the end. I have updated the ROH page for Mne Cundall with a bit more I found and that can now be viewed here:

http://www.commandoveterans.org/ArthurCundall46RMCommando

I have added the full size image to the 46RM Commando gallery as that is where he was serving at the time of his death. Here is a link to that image:

http://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/Royal+Marine+Commando+Units/46/Marine+Arthur+Cundall+46RM+Commando+jpeg.jpg.html

I have added your Grandfathers photo to the 48RM Commando gallery as that was where he served for most of the war and mentioned his move to 46 in 1945. We very rarely duplicate images as many served in more than one commando unit, however the nominal rolls now reflect your Grandfathers service in both. Here is a link to the image:

I will address the other image over the weekend.
