I seem to remember to have read on French sources that one or more units of Free French commandos (Bataillon de Choc and Commandos d'Afrique) were trained by commandos of the No 40 RM commando and by No 9 Army Commando on Corsica Island before the invasion of Elba (Operation Brassard, in June 1944). I also seem to remember that their instructors went into battle with their french trainees on Pianosa and Elba. Can anyone confirm this, or has anyone heard about this episode? Thank you, best regards
