Hey im a newbie here and love what its is
I?m trying to trace anything about my father
Commando Ronald Simmons I know he was at Dieppe on operation jubilee I?m not 100% sure of his unit
But I have is unique number
Ch/x2889
He ended up a pow in 1942 in Germany till the war ended
Anything you have will be great

40 Commando were at Dieppe. Your dad was a Chatham division marine. Have a look on this site, their is lots of helpful people and pictures, threads etc.

I?ve managed to do some digging with help of the guys here
And would you believe it my elder brother had this photo all along
It has no dates on it or unit etc
The lads look terribly young

Looks like a King's Squad photo (pre commando) after their basic training was completed probably taken at Deal or Eastney. They have a trophy so were winners of some activity. If you check this site they have links to several King's Squad photos over the years.
