Greetings one & all, with the Coronavirus lock-down well under way I've been having a trawl through boxes of old photos and discovered several snaps, most of which appear to have been taken by my dad, Cpl Alfred William Bint. He initially served as a RM on board HMS Berwick doing Russian convoy escort duties. I have a few photos taken of the iced up ship at sea, dated Nov 1941 and Feb 1942, and one of my dad, standing with several others by one of the ships guns titled 'Murmansk Feb 1942'.
I also have 3 larger photos of temporary graves, which I believe to be at Nan Red Beach. The reason for my belief is that the large house that 48 RM Commando were using as a guidance point can be seen in the background. I see that there is already a similar photo submitted on this site, taken from the opposite angle, so I assume these were probably taken by an official photographer.
I also have about a dozen photos which I think might have been taken at Deal, but I'm happy for anyone to correct me and shed some light on these. They're mostly lads messing about but I notice in one of them a handgun is being brandished so I was wondering if these were taken after the action, with the handgun being a confiscated trophy? I've no idea what the gun is so if anyone can shed light on it I'm happy to receive it.
Lastly, among dad's photos was a postcard of 'Les Aigles', which was used by 48 RM Commando as their Patrol House during their occupation of the french village Sallenelles. (The house is referenced in Ken Fords book about 48 RM Commando). Interestingly (well to me anyway), I took a look on Google Maps, went down to street view level, and discovered the the house is still there, and apart from the bushes and trees at the front being bigger, and the road shifted over slightly, its almost exactly the same now as it was then! I'll be adding these photos shortly, so if anyone can shed any more light on locations or names I'd be grateful.

Thank you very much for the excellent photos. I have now added those that relate to your father's time as a Commando to our 48RM Commando gallery here. The one of your Father on his own is alongside the other we already had. The one of your Uncle is below (in surname order). The others are on page 2 and 3:
