75 years ago this week 2 Commando Brigade were part of the allied assault across Lake Comacchio. The terrain for Operation Roast, Operation Impact Plain, and Operation Impact Royal, was difficult and the fighting hard with many casualties.

Two of the casualties from 2 Commando Brigade were posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross.
