We had the idea to put together a daily tour about the Operation Avalanche that took place on the coast of the Salerno Bay and Amalfi Coast, in September 1943.

We visit the WWII Museum in Salerno, where few items, pictures, newspaper and general information are displayed, then we move to the War Cemetery in Bellizzi, not far away from Salerno. Here people have the chance to find their relatives' graveyards, like what they use to do in Normandy: https://www.cwgc.org/find-a-cemetery/cemetery/2058200/SALERNO%20WAR%20CEMETERY.

We, then drive to Maiori, on the Amalfi Coast: here was the place where the Allied also disembarked and made their way to the Chiunzi Pass and get rid of the Nazi's stronghold there and made their way down to Cava de' Tirreni and the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese and eventually to Naples.
We stop on the beach and have a stroll around, going through the book "Operation Avalanche" to show you the pictures taken at that time and then we drive to the Pass and do an hike on the same trails where the soldiers went at that time, and reach a viewpoint from where you can see the whole area up to Naples.

Feel free to ask any info you may need or more details, please.
