Just had a tot of whiskey to the memory my Dad and his fellow comrades in 3 Commando Brigade on the 75th anniversary of the landings at Akyab Island, starting the pushback in the Arakan campaign. Lest we forget.

Hi BillP

Thanks for this post.
My father served in 4 Troop No 1Cdo in Burma.

He always said they were forgotten so remembering this way is special.

All were heroes of the highest order.

My father went to the the Arakan with the Royal Inniskillin Fusiliers in1943. Tough times!!
