Struggling to find any reference to my father despite having his Certificate of Service papers which show him as HBL RM Commando from 1/8/43 to 22/11/44 when he was given medical discharge.
Any help will be much appreciated

Lionel.
Your father would have been a Chatham Division marine. All marines were released to civvy street from their division after Commando service. His service number would have been CH/X 10250 and he was probably a HO marine who enlisted for the duration of the war.

Thank you. Really appreciate your comments. My father died when I was eleven so any information that I have is largely family anecdotes, such as him being wounded in Burma.
He does not appear in any of the battalion roll calls on this site. Is it likely that Kew would have more information?
If you email me (use email symbol below) the photos I will add them to this forum thread for you.
