No 4 Commandos. My dad, James Roland Greaves, is at the very top. Do not know the other men or location although I suspect Holland.

Hi Andrea
I have now added the image to the gallery and it can be viewed here:
http://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/4/James-Roland-Greaves-4-Cdo_-and-others.jpg.html
Your Father was a member of the original Commando Association and I spotted this in their newsletter 60 issued March 1975. If you have a photo of your Father on his own that you would like included in our gallery please post it here, ideally in uniform but in civvies is fine.

A relative in England found this picture. We will be in Vlissingen this spring for May 5, driving up to Kamperland to visit his grave.
Someone on the site may recognize others in this picture so wanted to share.
Regards,
Andrea

Hi Andrea and thanks for this. Do you know which book this came from ? We have a similar photo in the gallery here http://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/4/troop+photos/4_cdo_2_troop_28_10_1944.jpg.html
The ROH entry for Cpl. Maybury is here: http://www.commandoveterans.org/JohnMaybury4Commando
I will update the gallery in due course. I have also edited the photo you posted to display a bit clearer as a thumbnail here although once downloaded yours is fine.

Hi Andrea
Thanks for the photos. Two were already in the No.4 Gallery so I have added the third one which is on the last page of the No.4 gallery bottom row. Here is a direct link to it: http://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/4/Some+from+No_4+Commando.JPG.html
The other two can be found on row 5 of the last page of the No.4 gallery here: http://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/4/?g2_page=6

Hello Chaps,
Am still working on the biography of Major Geoffrey Langlands (No. 4 Commando):
https://www.arossauthor.com
On the 13th of February 2021 a memorial was held at Aitchison College, Lahore, Pakistan honouring the Major with this bust. It is great that the memories and achievements of these men are being kept alive.
Best,
Alexander Ross

Hi Alexander
He was certainly a remarkable man. His biography should make very interesting reading. We have a couple of other Forum messages about him but here is the one announcing his passing:
