Here's a strange one from my Dad regarding marine Hutchinson when he was on the Ajax he was part of the gun crew in X turret at the battle of the river plate .But he said " if you didn't lock the buggers in the turret they'd try to escape" which means some of the marines would be outside the turret during the battle .Could this possible be right any thoughts cheers

Hi Pete
Thanks for the reply and link .I have photos sadly am in the process of moving home .So as you can imagine things
are a bit mess up .I will post in due course and get them on the site to generate interest .
On a separate note the battle of the river plate was the reason why my dad was late for school .He had been listening to it on the radio duing the night
