Jeremy John Durham Ashdown, Lord Ashdown of Norton-sub-Hamdon, or as he came to be recognised by most, Paddy Ashdown, died on 22 December 2018 aged 77. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Marines on the 1st May 1959. Promoted Captain on 1st January 1970, he retired 2 years later at his own request on the 20th August 1972.
Paddy Ashdown, Royal Marine, Diplomat, and Liberal Democrat Politician.
Rest in peace Paddy.
